This blog started out with me trying to fight (what was diagnosed as) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by having a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to lessen my carbon footprint in the process. My plan was to chronicle the changes I made in my life to "save myself and the planet" (which was my old title). A few months after I began this blog I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It changed the direction of blog, so I needed to change the title.

They're Baaaaack
I had another seizure on Friday. I was in the car going on a camping trip and BAM it hit me. It was a really small, short one. But these are the seizures that my doctor wants to stop with surgery. I am getting so mixed up lately with what is a simple partial seizures vs complex partial seizures vs auras. I am glad that I am going to my neuro this week to talk this all out. I want to make sure I am describing what is going on and using the proper terminology. I know this is only one seizure, but I am already thinking about the surgery possibilities again. I fear that due to the residual tumor I will always have medically intractable seizures. It feels like my body gets used to the medications and I start having breakthrough seizures again. I could be over thinking all of this and it was just one seizure. Looking back through my seizure log some of the things I mark as "auras" sound more like seizures to me. I hate not being able to control my body anymore.

Hey, my name is Liz. I don't have a blog, but I completely empathize w/ your "seizure-confusion". Sometimes I get very obvious physical sensations (I used to just fall on the floor) and know I had a seizure. Now, I rarely get these, but sometimes I'll get a little dizzy feeling, and wonder if I need to tell my doctor.
I know it is so hard! Now I try to explain everything weird to my doctor. Luckily she is happy that I do this and takes it seriously.
