Back home

I spent six long days in the hospital for the VEEG. Besides the one small seizure I had day 1 I did not have anymore. Of course that small seizure did not show up on the VEEG. By day 4 or 5, I really started to feel miserable. Since it was a holiday weekend, I received hardly any information from my doctors. I felt like there was nothing to gain by me being in the hospital. I was also at my breaking point from sitting in bed for so long. It was a really emotional time for me. I wanted answers and I wanted to go home. The last day the doctor on call made me an appointment for yet another MRI. She explained they want one with smaller cuts to really see if there is any abnormality causing my seizures. I do not understand why they did not request this when I went for my last MRI just 2 days before I went into the hospital. They continue to elude to the possibility of another surgery, but no one really explained the rational. I made an appointment to see my neurologist in two weeks, I am hoping to get real information then. The doctors are presenting my case to the epilepsy board. My guess is that is when they will make their recommendation to me. That is a long time for me to stay in the dark. I started a new medicine, so I am hoping that will work. My seizures right now are annoying, but do not really affect my life. I think another surgery is not worth it at this time. The Keppra has been working on my complex partial seizures, just not the simple partial seizures. As long as the CP seizure are under control, I feel I can function okay. I do not understand how I went in the hospital thinking the goals was to confirm if I was having seizures and it ended up being to see if I need an epilepsy surgery. I am really annoyed about all of this. I hope my neuro will shed some light on this situation.
