This blog started out with me trying to fight (what was diagnosed as) Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by having a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to lessen my carbon footprint in the process. My plan was to chronicle the changes I made in my life to "save myself and the planet" (which was my old title). A few months after I began this blog I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It changed the direction of blog, so I needed to change the title.

Moving foward with medical decisions and LIFE
I went for neuropsy testing and will get the results next week. I can already tell that I had trouble with faces and visual memory. But I will see next week how bad it is compared to the "norm." I am scheduled for the WADA test for March 11th. I am not as scared about it anymore, as I read up a lot about it. Most people say they do not remember much about it. I also think it is interesting on a neuro level. I can see how my brain will respond when using half of it! Pretty cool, but would be cooler if I was an onlooker and not the patient. My second opinion at NYU is next week, which I am really excited about. I am hoping to obtain more information about what is really going on with my brain. I do not feel like I truly know why I NEED surgery. If I find out that my hippocampus is actually atrophying and it is progressive, I can understand the need for surgery. Otherwise I cannot see why I would go through this again. I feel like if I need another surgery I can get through this emotionally with a great support system. I am more worried about getting through this physically (really cognitively). Since I have gone through extensive neuropsy testing and eventually the WADA test if those results look promising it will ease my mind. I am remaining pretty positive right now because it is all I can do. I am also continuing to enjoy life. I am leaving in a few hours for a snowboarding weekend in VT with amazing friends.
